New Age Caravans Gold Coast have partnered with R-Spec Industries to support Qld Gemini Racing champion Mark Gray.
Mark has most recently been competing in the Queensland Gemini Racing Series and is currently the defending series champion of 2020.
Mark was introduced to motorsport at a very early age and a very unhealthy obsession was to unfold. Mark commenced his motorsport career in 1995 where he undertook a support role at an up and coming rally team, on the national rally series in NZ. Mark quickly stepped up into the position of chief mechanic in the 1996 and 1997 seasons and played his part in the team, on their road to a series championship of 1997. In the coming years, he remained heavily involved in motorsport and assisted numerous teams in lead mechanical roles in different forms of motorsport. Some of these include; 1600cc NZ Touring Car Series, NZ V8 Touring Car Series, Targa Rally NZ (Ford Escort MK1), NZ Superbike Series (Ducati 748SP). Mark decided to build and race my first race car in 1998. It was Class 7 1200cc VW Off-Road Racer an ended up; 3rd in class and 7th overall in the NZ National Championship. I competed until 1999, when I made the move to Australia with my family.
After moving to Australia, Mark stayed reasonably low-key in motorsport until 2001. While working full-time as a diesel mechanic, Mark won a drive package at a newly formed rally school on the Gold Coast. Mark got the bug for racing again and he soon realised that he couldn’t live without it. As a result, Mark heavily pursued a career change into motorsport and soon after, secured a position as a rally driving instructor at a local rally school.
Mark is currently working as a senior technician within the automotive industry.
“Mark is a hardworking, passionate and motivated person that would great representative to any organisation” Matthew Kilborn – Fixed Operations Manager
